Blogging My Journey

Last week, the four of us joined the 5th YES-O camp. We participated all the activities given, listened to the lectures and cooperated with the groups. On the third day of the camp, we went to Lolengs Mountain Spring Resort located at the Eden Tayabas, Toril Davao City. We participated in the eco-race and enjoyed the activity. After that, we roam around and feel the essence of the nature. Then, we spend time swimming in the pool although in a short span of time. As we went home, we are all tired of the trip. Even though the camp was very tiring, still we enjoyed the camp ang learned a lot from it.

In Our World of Patterns

“In Our World of Patterns” project focuses on patterns, mathematics, cultures, traditions, lifestyles and how patterns symbolize philosophy of one community. The objectives of the project are to encourage the student participants identify and understand the patterns which are usually found in mathematics or other subjects in school; observe and explore the patterns that represent the various philosophies in their respective cultures, lifestyle, fashion, or in other ways. The project will be implemented in three phases, from January to June 2009.

TEENAGERS NOWADAYS

We all know that teenagers have a lot things to do. Especially now we are in our senior years.
One of our problem is the SLEEPLESS NIGHTS.
So we'll give some TIPS and IDEAS:

5 Ideas for Better Sleep

A recent study shows that about 1 in 4 teens has trouble sleeping. Lack of sleep can affect everything from our emotions to how well we focus on tasks like driving. It can even cause headaches, stomachaches, or other physical problems.

How can we get the sleep we need? Here are some ideas:

  1. Be active during the day. You've probably noticed how much running around little kids do — and how soundly they sleep. Take a tip from a toddler and get at least 60 minutes of exercise a day. Physical activity can decrease stress and help people feel more relaxed. Just don't work out too close to bedtime because exercise can wake you up before it slows you down.
  2. Avoid alcohol and drugs. Lots of people think that alcohol or drugs will make them relaxed and drowsy, but that's not the case. Drugs and alcohol disrupt sleep, increasing a person's chance of waking up in the middle of the night.
  3. Say goodnight to electronics. Experts recommend using the bedroom for sleep only. If you can't make your bedroom a tech-free zone, at least shut everything down an hour or more before lights out. Nothing says, "Wake up, something's going on!" like the buzz of a text or the ping of an IM.
  4. Keep a sleep routine. Going to bed at the same time every night helps the body expect sleep. Creating a set bedtime routine can enhance this relaxation effect. So unwind every night by reading, listening to music, spending time with a pet, writing in a journal, playing Sudoku, or doing anything else that relaxes you.
  5. Expect a good night's sleep. Stress can trigger insomnia, so the more you agonize about not sleeping, the greater the risk you'll lie awake staring at the ceiling. Instead of worrying that you won't sleep, remind yourself that you can. Say, "Tonight, I will sleep well" several times during the day. It can also help to practice breathing exercises or gentle yoga poses before bed.
  6. Everyone has a sleepless night once in a while. But if you regularly have trouble sleeping and you think it's affecting your mood or performance, talk to your doctor.

Radio or Television : Which do you prefer?

The television set is among the mostly used electrical appliance in every household. People nowadays, opted to have their T.V. set rather than having a transistor radio. T.V. is more advanced in technology than the transistor radio. Especially in the urban area, adios are now seldom seen although there a few who still own some of those radios. Others have much advanced radio sets, yet, T.V. is still most preferred. With the latest innovations T.V. has become more and more popular than any other electrical appliance. But, in the rural areas, especially the very remote and far places, where one station or channel can be viewed, radios are still preferred by the people living in rural places. Simply because radios are easy to carry whether he is a farmer or fisherman, he can bring along his radio anywhere he wants to go since a radio is just quite good enough for any person to bring it because of its size. Thus, television and radio sets still give information and makes our life easy and comfortable.

Made For a Simple Purpose

There are things which may be similar or different from each other. For example, the similarities and the differences of a door and a window. The door is similar to the window since both of them are parts of the house. Both of them are panels or movable panels which can be open or closed. The door is used to open or close an entrance while window is an opening constructed in the wall. The two of them differs from each other because the door is an entrance way to a certain room, building or any passage while the window is used to admit light and it is opened to let air pass. Even though they have differences, they are still made for the same purpose.

FRIENDS

Personality is made up of the characteristics patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors that make a person unique. People in the world have different personalities, but some are similar in nature. Words and actions are not the things that only reveal a lot about you, but friends reveal as much. I have two circles of friends, one is the SPIRITS and the other is the NOMADZ. Each group has different personalities although both have shimmering identities.

SPIRITS, way back from my elementary life at DPLC are the kind of friends that are more focus on studies but still very joyful and knows the right time to enjoy. Although they are not that open with their emotions, we get along very well. On the other hand, the NOMADZ from my high school life are very funny and full of laughter and joy. They are also very noisy even on mere conversations. What I like most is that they cheer you up and maintain the positive side of things.

As you can see, these two groups of friends of mine are different but both are very important in my life. Both play vital roles in my life. They are also similar in the sense that they caused a change in me and made my life complete.

Cats and Dogs

Having a hard time choosing between a dog or a cat for a pet? Dogs and cats are both animals. They are classified under Mammalian. Although they may seem alike, they still tend to be different. They say you can never put these two animals and together because putting them together will only result to chaos. However, what is really the perfect pet for you? Dogs, as what they say is Man's Best Friend because they are very loyal to their master. In addition to that, they are very good in protecting their masters. On the other hand, cats as what they say is a Woman's Side Kick. They can never be leashed or tied because they tend to loiter around high places. Remember, choosing a pet is just the first step. It takes great responsibility and tremendous commitment in order to house a pet.
